Notes:
* Pictorial mark is an image that is immediately recognisable and that has been simplified and stylised` in order in a unique way. Pictorial marks use literal and recognisable images.
*Semiotics is an investigation into how meaning is created and how meaning is communicated. Its origins lie in the academic study of how signs and symbols (visual and linguistic) create meaning.
* Symbol: A mark or character used as a conventional representation of an object, function, or process, e.g. the letter or letters standing for a chemical element or a character in musical notation.
Research:
Find examples of symbols in your everyday life. Post these to your learning journal for discussion.

Reflection
The past few weeks of the trimester I had been struggling to manage both of my classes. I did focus on my other class and due to this I had fallen a week behind, this resulted in me struggling to find someone to work with for this project.
